BIOGRAPHY

Berry de Mey was born at the Eudokia Hospital in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, on February 23rd, 1962. He grew up as the middle child in a family of five, including his older sister Monica and his younger brother Jorgen.
In 2004, Berry de Mey graduated from the premier photographic academy of the Netherlands. Since then he has been working as a professional photographer and has produced a wealth of outstanding photographic images.
De Mey’s interest in camera work wasn’t always as a cameraman though. As a world-class bodybuilder, he developed a well-chiseled physique and became a celebrated model, gracing the covers of many sports press publications. He often worked alongside such renown professionals in the field as Chris Lund, Mike Neveaux, Per Bernal, Ken Markus, Art Zeller, John Balik, Dick Zimmerman, Ralph de Haan, Bill Dobbins and Robert Reiff.
Experiencing these photo shoots from the model’s side of the camera lens gave de Mey special insight and helped him to refine his photography craft.
